Arena players from the Americas and Europe will compete throughout 2022 in the Arena World Championship (AWC), hoping to prove themselves in battle and earn one of eight spots at the AWC Circuit for their region.
First, teams need to prove themselves starting with the Arena Cups. These are online 3v3 Arena tournaments, hosted by Blizzard, open to players of all skill levels. Regional bragging rights and cash rewards are up for grabs!

The Arena World Championship Cups operate on a point system. Points will be awarded to the top twelve teams for each Arena Cup in 2022. These points can add up to a ticket into the AWC Shadowlands Circuit at the end of the season.
The AWC Circuit is an online round robin series. The top four teams from the NA and EU Circuits will qualify to the Shadowlands Global Finals hosted later this year. Between the AWC Cups, Circuit, and Shadowlands Global Finals, players will compete for their share of USD $700,000 in total prizing throughout the season!

Each team will be allowed one free roster swap in the season, following this roster swaps will result in a 50% deduction of their AWC point pool at the time of the swap.

The best eight teams of the Americas and Europe will battle in their respective regions during the AWC Circuit. Teams in the AWC Circuit will compete in a round robin format, playing every other team in a best of 5 match.
The top four performing teams of the round robin portion of the Circuit will compete in the AWC Shadowlands Finals to determine who is the Shadowlands champion.
Between the NA and EU Circuits, players will compete for a total USD $700,000 in prizing throughout the year.

Do I need a team of four players to sign up and compete?
Nope! Four-player rosters are optional at all stages of the Arena World Championship; you only ever need a total of three players to have an eligible team. Four-player rosters can provide a lot of flexibility, however, so it’s often worth finding a fourth player to round out your team.
What happens to my points if I leave my team?
As mentioned in the rules, points are awarded to the team itself, not individual players. So, if you leave your team and join another team, you don’t bring any points with you. There are some specific scenarios that can occur if multiple players leave the same team at the same time—read more about that in section 4.3 of the rules.
I’m a citizen in one eligible country and have a valid work visa in another eligible country. Where do I compete?
The region that you will compete in corresponds to the country specified in your Battle.net account. If this is not set to the country you wish to compete in, you must update your Battle.net account’s country of residence prior to competing.
I have moved countries since I created my Battle.net account. How do I update it?

If you have received notification that you are disqualified from the Arena World Championship, this disqualification applies to all accounts owned by you. Your notification from Blizzard will have more details about when you will be eligible to compete again.
